A-Rock Investment is a Moroccan based company specialized in developing agribusinesses in Africa and Middle East. The core business is about identifying high added value opportunities and setting up projects from the initial concept to its final delivery and running the operations.

Rock refers to quality of projects to be conducted by our firm. We design the business case to make it as efficient as possible, looking for the best technologies, the best processes, even launching some explorations with R&D centers and reframing the project to drive the best out of it.

OVERVIEW

We propose turnkey projects to investors that are looking for high performance in agroindustry businesses. From idea origination to building the factories and running the business to the exit opportunity to be considered, we manage the entire project for the benefit of the investors.

WHY

We started with our assessment on the existing businesses where very few number of agro-industrial companies have the capabilities to develop new businesses and to expand farer from their original field. We have also seen the incredible opportunities in developing agrobusinesses in Africa and Middle East. Usually, big producers of raw material and big consumers of finished goods, African countries export raw material and import finished products that have been transformed in other countries. We believe we can be more efficient and more productive in origin countries when we are capable of managing the local context.

HOW DO
WE PROCEED
We generate ideas out of our experience and discovering new businesses and we explore the opportunity to do better using our deep experience in industry and agrobusinesses.

We conduct a preliminary study addressing market conditions and technological choices with proven related costs of the project (capex and opex). We set up the business case from securing sourcing of raw material to delivery of goods to the distribution network.



Afterwards, we establish a detailed business plan and we start structuring the financing. We make club deal on each project and we start addressing the debt with financing organization using each local context facilitation to go fast.



Once financing is secured, we launch detailed studies and start contracting construction. In parallel we finalize sourcing and market distribution to set up the entire business case with required business partners. We start operations and run the business to make it profitable.



After 3 to 5 years from initial financing, we propose to initial investors to look for exit opportunities and we conduct the process until we close the deal

ounded by two professionals with complementary experience, it is the perfect combination for the success of the projects.

Mustapha Laraqui

is a serial entrepreneur focused on agribusiness for the last 20 years. He created a multi-products company « Denia » specialized in snacking (cashew nuts, chips, dried fruits…) valued at 130x its initial investment to a big Moroccan Group. He established in 2012, Fun Chips the second chips manufacturer in Morocco starting from building the potatoes grower network to distribution all around the country. He introduced the specific variety of potatoes that gives high quality chips. In 2019, he sets up FunFries, the only frozen French fries producer in Morocco from end to end (3000 Ha of farms to distribution) that was also sold to a Moroccan Group at 50x its initial investment.
Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, he is -44year-old and started he career as a research scientist CNRS and worked as a account manager at BMCI “Bnpparibas”.

Amine Louali

is a very experienced CEO with more than 20 years spent in managing big companies mainly in heavy industry: SINAM Group, Maghreb Steel, OCP Group, Lafarge. His last position was as CEO of Cosumar, the Moroccan sugar company with a 1BUSD turnover per year and exporting to more than 40 countries around the world. He was successful in managing turnover of highly competitive industries with international exposure. With a multiskilled profile, he has strong experience in change management in operations, strategy, development, finance… results driven in challenging environments. He was the president and VP of professional associations in Morocco with a large professional network.
Graduated from Ecole Polytechnique (France) and Telecom Paris, he holds an Executive MBA from MIT Sloan. He is -44year-old.
